Water disinfection with UV light gives valuable results

As part of the Fertinnowa project, CATÉ showcased the Priva Vialux M-Line, a UV water disinfection system that inactivates harmful organisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses within the irrigation water. The University of Brittany (EQUAZA), subcontracted by CATÉ, conducted sample analyses.

EQUAZA performed analyses on samples of drain water, before and after the treatment with the Priva Vialux M-Line. The analyses targeted fungal flora (Pythium spp. and Fusarium oxysporum), total bacterial flora and Pseudomonas fluorescent. The UV disinfection consistently destroyed 100% of any fungal or bacterial population.

In their report, the parties described a minimal concentration of bacteria and fungi after the UV light treatment. Taking measurement accuracy into account, this confirms the at least 99,9% efficiency of the Vialux M-Line technology.
