IX International Symposium on Irrigation of Horticultural Crops
June 17 @ 08:00 - June 20 @ 17:00 BST
The International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and the DiCEM/ University of Basilicata are organizing the IX International Symposium on Irrigation of Horticultural Crops, that will be held in Matera (Italy) from 17 to 20 June 2019.
Today the competition for scarce water resources in many places at global level is intense. Available water resources are constantly diminishing at increasing rates. Adaptation of agriculture to varying conditions induced by climate change is necessary because some changes in climate can no longer be prevented.
During the four days of the congress, scientists from different countries will review current research trends on the irrigation of horticultural plants, will present new discoveries and make plans for future research and special projects.
Contributions are expected to cover a wide range of research fields including:
- Sustainable approaches to irrigation management;
- DSS (Decision Support Systems)
- Plant water status and fruit quality
- Irrigation management under arid and semi-arid conditions
- Water use efficiency
- Social and economic aspects
